Excursion
Tours are scheduled for Wednesday. We have planned two excursions, depending upon your interests.
Long trip (7 hours, distance 14 km, start 8:00 AM - finish 3:00 PM)We will start walk through Szklarska Poręba Dolna, and climb up to to the main ridge of Izerian Mountains. First we will reach Robbers’ Rocks, where is a side drift of an old pyrite mine from 17th century. Then we will see a Death Curve - a 180-degree sharp bend on the road to Swieradow Zdrój Spa. The next point will be one of the highest peaks of Izerian Mountains - High Stone (1058 m als) which is a fantastic view point, with great panorama. There is a small restaurant on the top, so we can have a tea, coffee or some other drinks:). Then we will walk down to the White Valley - the highest part of Szklarska Poręba town with old traditional houses. On the way back to the hotel, there will be more sights to see: the Golden Viewpoint and the rock called Chybotek which can easily be put into swinging motion.
Short trip (5,5 hours, distance 9 km, start 9:30 AM - finish 3:00 PM)
From the Hotel Las we will walk down to the main road and cross the Kamienna river. First sight is a picturesque Szklarka Waterfall in The Karkonoski National Park Enclave which is 13,3 m hight. From there will walk up the forest path to Glass Factory. Visitors coming there can watch coloured glass being hand made in front of their eyes. Then we will have a small rest for drink in the center of Szklarska Poręba town. On the main square we will see a sculpture of Giant Mountains Spirit. On the way back to the hotel we will see some other attractions: The Red Den - a cave, created artificially by the exploitation of minerals, the Golden Viewpoint and the rock called Chybotek which can easily be put into swinging motion.
